Purpose
The Accent XL laser is a non-invasive, non-ablative radiofrequency technology that eliminates cellulite in problem areas on the face and body by emitting radio frequency (RF). This leaves skin with a youthful, healthy appearance. Furthermore, the Accent XL laser is the only system on the market that provides two types of radio frequency simultaneously. Many patients consider Accent XL laser therapy supreme to traditional skin tightening (ST) with lasers such as the Thermage, Titan, or ST hand piece by Alma. Solaris Med Spa does not recommend Accent XL laser therapy for weight loss, though greater than 25 percent of those treated have reported weight loss as an added benefit.
History
Prior to FDA approval in the US, the Accent XL laser was used in Europe and South America, where it was shown to reduce wrinkles, cellulite, and fat. The Accent XL now has FDA approval in the United States, and Solaris Med Spa is one of the first facilities in the US and Arizona to offer this amazing therapy.
Clinical Use
The Accent XL laser has three primary functions. First, it heats the underside of skin to promote fat cell shrinkage. It also improves circulation to the targeted area while stimulating natural collagen production, which makes the area look smoother.
Dual radio frequency (RF2) is unique in that it provides controlled tissue heating to two tissue depths. The Accent XL laser's bipolar RF2 hand piece tightens the superficial epidermal layer to provide skin tightening, thereby reducing uneven skin contour and minimizing wrinkles caused by aging, cellulite deposition, and/or post-surgical fibrous adhesions (liposuctions and tummy tucks). The unipolar hand piece reaches deeper to reduce adipose, or fatty, tissue.
Heating these tissue depths improves circulation, initiates a breakdown of fibrous tissue, and promotes absorption and drainage of retained fluids and toxins. Fat cells shrink from the bombardment of pulsating RF and from contracting collagen, which stretches tissue. This provides volume reduction that contributes to exquisite body contouring in the targeted area.
Results
Accent XL laser treatments create a dramatic change in the appearance of cellulite in just a few quick treatments. Patients can expect to return to normal activity immediately following therapy. Results will evident after each session.
