Mesotherapy with Lipo-Dissolve

Purpose
Mesotherapy, specifically meso-lipo therapy, has been found effective for destroying fat cells and is ideal for adults who want spot fat reduction, not general weight loss.

Ingredients
At Solaris Med Spa, we administer Lipo-Dissolve, a trusted name in meso-lipo therapy. Lipo-Dissolve contains phosphatidylcholine (PPC), a natural chemical found in every cell membrane of the human body, and deoxycholate (DC), which targets and kills fat cells. Other ingredients vary according to the physician's preference and the patient's needs.

Background
French physician Dr. Pistor invented Mesotherapy in 1952 to control pain associated with athletic injuries and neurological or rheumatologic issues. Mesotherapy was modified in the United States for cellulite reduction therapy. Some professionals do not consider Lipo-Dissolve to be Mesotherapy, but most training facilities categorize it as such, because the treatment and delivery method is comparable to, and actually originated from, Mesotherapy.

Non-Surgical Procedure
Although Lipo-Dissolve can be used for fat pads under the eyes, as well as on the neck and arms, it is often the preferred therapy for fat reduction on the abdomen, love handles, outer and inner thighs, and buttocks. Lipo-Dissolve is administered by multiple microinjections, just beneath the skin's surface. A topical anesthetic is applied before injection, and a Zimmer cooler can be used during treatment to minimize discomfort.

Treatment Time
Treatment may take up to one hour. The number of sessions will depend on the amount of fat to be removed, but average treatment requires three to twelve sessions, approximately three weeks apart. 

Effects
You may experience mild soreness, as from a workout, for one to two days. Dr. McWilliams can prescribe medication to minimize post-procedural discomfort during the brief recovery time.
