Threadlift (FeatherLift)Erase wrinkles, lift your brow, cheeks and jowels, and your neck all without undergoing an invasive facelift procedure! At Solaris Med Spa, you can enjoy the benefits of a "facelift" without major surgery. We offer what is called a Threadlift or FeatherLift. With modern cosmetic techniques, you can reclaim your youthful appearance with this short, outpatient procedure. PurposeNatural denaturing of the protein that makes up the collagen matrix within our skin contributes to the formation of wrinkles (rhytids) and sagging skin. This process is facilitated by UV (sun) exposure, dehydration from a lack of water consumption, free radical formation form insufficient antioxidants, smoking, poor diet, and a lack of exercise. For many years, the only option to combat wrinkles and facial sagging was to undergo a facelift. However, not all patients favored going under general anesthesia and missing work for several days or weeks, all for results that may last only five to seven years. As the years go by, the forces of gravity work on the muscular and subcutaneous tissues of the face to displace them downwards. While the classic facelift has always been an option for patients with more advanced skin sag, Solaris Med Spa offers patients a less invasive beautification procedure, the Threadlift. ProcedureThe Threadlift, also known as FeatherLift, developed by Drs. Pierre Fornier and Giorgio Fischer, is a minimally invasive, face-lifting procedure that involves placement of nylon threads to pull skin upwards and create a “lift” on the brow, cheeks and jowls, and neck. A small incision in the hairline allows introduction of the threads, which run down the face and small notches on the threads attaches to the skin and creates an upward tension. The entire procedure is performed under local anesthesia. However, the patient can be calmed with the addition of Ativan and/or Lortab to reduce anxiety during and potential mild discomfort afterwards. ResultsNasolabial folds and marionette lines disappear immediately. Threadlift patients have a reduced need for dermal facial fillers (Restylane or Juve’Derm) or Botox to correct the lines caused by aging. The expected duration of a Threadlift is approximately 3 or 4 years, compared to surgical facelift of 5 to 7 years. The cost of a Threadlift is approximately 45% the cost of a surgical facelift. The anticipated results of a Threadlift are approximately 65% of the surgical face lift. For many this is a welcomed outcome as the correction afforded by the Threadlift looks more natural and leaves people guessing IF they got something done. The longevity of a curl lift can be lengthened by facial rejuvenation procedures, such as Rhytec Portrait PSR, and/or the Alma Laser 360 protocol, or by skin tightening. Young to middle-age patients respond best to the Threadlift procedure. Patients should have someone drive them to and from the center, especially if Ativan and/or Lortab is provided. Expect to return to normal daily activity the day after the procedure. Residual dimples just above the suspension tension lines may result, but they will disappear in two to four weeks. Plan your Threadlift for about one to two months in advance of special engagements. |
