Meyer’s Cocktail / Nutritional IV

The Myer’s IV cocktail was actually developed by a John Myer, MD, of Baltimore, in the 1970’s. Today, the medical providers who more commonly prescribe the nutritional IV are holistic-minded physicians, such as naturopaths (NMD’s or ND’s) and a few holistic, but conventionally trained MD’s. Given the high dose of vitamin C, glutathione, B-vitamins, minerals (Mg & Ca) and saline, the Meyer’s IV cocktail can serve to rehydrate, revitalize, augment the immune system, and help detoxify the liver from drugs and disease. Since it is a very affordable treatment, some patients come in monthly for a “pick-me-up” while others come in 1-2x/week during the cold & flu season. The Myer’s has been most commonly used to treat fatigue, fibromyalgia, depression, migraines, and cardiovascular disease. The treatment may take 15-30 minutes. Most insurance providers do not cover this service. Fortunately, the treatment is very affordable.
