BOTOX® Cosmetic

BOTOX® Cosmetic can smooth moderate to severe frown lines in your forehead, around your eyes for "crow's feet," between your brows for "#11's," above your eyebrows to reduce frown lines, just above your upper lips for "smoker's lines", around your nose for the "wolf's snarl", around your lower chin for the marionette lines, and around the lower border of the nose for "gummy smiles". BOTOX® Cosmetic has been used for treatment for over 20 years, but was only recently FDA approved for cosmetic use in 2002. Since then, over a million people have used BOTOX® Cosmetic. It is indicated for the temporary improvement in the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines between the brows in people 18 to 65 years of age. It may last up to 4 months. BOTOX® Cosmetic should not when there is a suspected infection at the proposed injection site. It should also not be used in individuals with known hypersensitivity to any ingredient in the formulation. Patients with neurological disorders such as ALS, myasthenia gravis, or Lambert-Eaton syndrome may be at increased risk of serious side effects. The most common side effects include headache, respiratory infection, flu syndrome, temporary eyelid droop (ptosis) and nausea.
